Sphere of Influence = Steps to Success

I am a goal-oriented individual. For those who know me well, they would agree. I subscribe to the philosophy of "plan your work then work your plan." Yet, I am also someone who tries to do all that I want to do - on my own.

My good friend Jacky often reminds me in our long-distance conversations that people must get it into their heads that they cannot do as much as they want to do if they do not partner with others to do it. That includes me.

We have discussed at length how you can do so much more in your life when you have others to help you. Trying to accomplish tasks alone will not always produce the results that your are seeking. However, when you tap into your sphere of influence, you will find that you will have the success in which you seek.

The sphere of influence consists of family, friends, mentors, coaches, teachers, colleagues, and/or associates. In essence, people with whom you have a relationship and whose opinions you respect and trust. Your sphere of influence typically consists of anyone from whom you can learn as they help to guide you to become better at who you are and what you do.

Over the years, I have become much more consistent at tapping into my sphere of influence to ask for help and form partnerships to make my dreams and goals a reality. Although there are still times when I resort back to my solo style, I have become much more aware at understanding when operating alone is necessary and when partnering with others is essential.

I encourage you to think about the dreams you have and the goals you want to achieve in your life. Now, consider those that you have around you that you can partner with to make those dreams and goals a reality. If no one exists, consider finding a mentor or a coach to help you instead.

The main thing to keep in mind is that when you partner with a friend, colleague, associate, or anyone in your sphere of influence, you will find that you will be much more equipped to accomplish all that you ever imagined.
