Do These Buzz Words Describe You?

Condescending. Rude. Sarcastic. Harsh. Abrupt. These are buzz words used to describe those we work and live with in a not so pleasing way. These are also buzz words that may have been used to describe you.

Are your co-workers and loved ones really that way? Perhaps.

Do these words really describe you? At times.

What makes it so? Sometimes it's in the actions displayed. Other times it's in the words spoken. Plus, when you couple the way in which the words were spoken with the actual words spoken, you have these buzz words flying all over the place to describe us.

What can we do about it?

I recommend becoming conscious of what you say and how you say it. I also recommend understanding why you say it.

I know for me personally, I've had to monitor the instances in which these words were spoken about me. What I discovered was that when I was task-centered, time-bound and focused on the bottom line, I heard these words quite frequently associated with my name.

How about you?

What do you recommend we do to stop these buzz words from being used to describe us?
